Marco graduated from the University of Padova (Italy) over 20 years ago. He then completed an internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Centre in California (USA) before moving to Glasgow, where he earned a Master’s degree and completed a four-year residency in Equine Internal Medicine. In 2014, he became a European Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine.

Following his specialisation, Marco spent three more years in Glasgow to complete a PhD in equine epidemiology and pharmacology. He then joined the University of Nottingham, where he is now a Clinical Associate Professor in Equine Internal Medicine, contributing to teaching across all five years of the veterinary programme.

In 2020, Marco became part of the team at Pool House, where he has played a key role in expanding the medicine service and supervising residents and interns. He is typically at the practice on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Marco has published extensively in veterinary literature and has been invited to speak at numerous international congresses and meetings.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, walking his little dog, Tosca, and hopes to become a single-figure golfer in the near future!
