What to do in an emergency

Please contact our normal number 01283 799700 and your call shall be triaged by an experienced staff member.

Our experienced vets provide 24 hour cover, 365 days of the year. Whatever the time of day, or night your call will be answered by a dedicated emergency service. We provide a rapid response, ensuring your horse receives care as quickly as possible. They will also be able to advise you about what first aid and help you can give whilst waiting for the vet to arrive.

Dealing with an emergency out of hours can be overwhelming and stressful.

  • CONTACT THE HOSPITAL:- call 01283 799700 our out-of-hours emergency telephone lines are answered by experienced veterinary nurses who are best placed to understand your emergency and can provide you with advice.
  • 24 HOURS/365 DAYS A YEAR:- We have an emergency team on call 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year.
  • PHONE CALL TRIAGED:- Your call shall be triaged by one of our emergency Team.
  • INFORMATION AND HISTORY:- Where possible have as much information and history as possible ahead of your arrival, along with the relevant contact details/permissions of the owner.

Please be advised, our out of hours calls are answered by Equicomms a dedicated emergency call service which is manned by Qualified and Experience Equine Veterinary Nurses.

Our Emergency ambulatory call out service is supported by Equicall on a rotation with our own out of hours team.
